Nessie Bookplate Release Day!
I thought I'd speak to you directly about something, because there's not long left and I'm really anxious. Sorry!
So if you’re a regular Newsletter subscriber, you’ll have heard about me and the great cartoonist Rachael Smith crowdfunding this graphic novel through Zoop: Who Killed Nessie? It’s a cosy comedy whodunnit about a murder at the annual convention of mysterious creatures like the Yeti, the Kraken and of course our old friend the Mongolian Death Worm. When one of their number, the Loch Ness Monster, is killed in suspicious circumstances, it falls to the only human left at the hotel, new intern Lindsay Grockle, to solve the mystery.
We’ve only got 10 days left of the campaign, and, though those who’ve done this before insist we’re doing fine, I can’t help but get very anxious at the idea of failing in public.
So today myself and Rachael decided to release what’s below, the Bookplate for the physical version of the graphic novel, which, at one of our backer levels, you can have inserted into your copy, autographed by us. At another backer level, you can have Rachael do a special doodle on it for you. (That’s what ‘Remarqued’ means, which I learned during this campaign.)
There’s a limited number of these left. And I think they’re a lovely addition to what’s already going to be a pretty small print run. Rachael has a collector audience, so you’d be getting something that’d increase in value.
At any rate, consider this a mid-campaign pitch to you, please go and have a look, and, if this isn’t for you or you’re not in a position to get it right now, then please spread the word.
You can find the campaign, with loads of lovely backer levels (original art, come watch Rachael draw with me on a Zoom) here.
Thanks!
